'I love to ride my Optibike for fun and exercise but its main job is to take me to work over Mt Tamalpais 15 miles to work - which makes the commute fun and great excercise. I ride on beautiful mountain roads through the redwoods and above the Pacific Ocean. It is an 1800 ft vertical climb. Lots of bicycilists ride these roads after work and on weekends but very few commute over this mountain. The Optibike is what makes the difference."
Personal Note: "...I feel like a super hero raging up, down, across forest single tracks with super hero speed and easy. I feel like I have a secret secret weapon that I alone know the the secrets of. Well I did own the first one on the west coast so I have had many fabulous experiences with my Opti 600t. But really I am almost always thinking of what ride I will do in my spare time. Every time I come home I check the charger lights and green just sends my pulse and mind racing to ride the bike anywhere, some where, every where."
"Ahh, the roadies. So sad for them when they don't understand why middle aged people are passing them so easily.
The coolest thing is having our friends who normally would not ride a bike any distance test ride our Opti's. You see their faces light up when they realize how this new form of transportation could benefit them."
Location: Denver, CO Personal Note: Denver, Colorado resident Hope CB (standing!) who won "Best/Coolest bike" at the Denver Green Festival with here Optibike USV! Way to go Hope!
Personal Note: “We're both retired and use our Optibikes for recreational purposes only, we really are impressed with the quality and workmanship. Most importantly, the level of customer service that we've gotten is fantastic. We simply could not be happier with our purchase.”
Favorite Quote: “(from his Optibike Blog check it out! http://weightloss.optibike.com): Hit a solid red light on my motor controller – which translated that I used at least 60% of the battery charge – wonder if I could I go for 20 more miles? The good thing this proves I can do my 22 mile commute one way without worrying if I will run out of juice."
Location: Westwood, MA Personal Note: "A year ago arriving at the age of 71, I decided that I wanted to be able to keep up with younger riders and also to be able to go on longer trips, perhaps up to fifty miles. I therefore decided to purchase an Optibike late last fall. With the help of this Optibike I can now do in my 70's as much or more than I could do in my mid- 30's."
Favorite Quote: “Recently someone asked Michael "If you could do it again, what would you do differently?" His reply "I would buy TWO Optibike 850R’s instead of just one.”
Location: Reno, NV Personal Note: "When I first learned about Optibike (the company) I was really impressed with the effort, passion and commitment of everyone there. I've made several trips out to Optibike and spent a total of probably 15 hours talking with Craig, Jim, Frank and many others. I've learned how they work to source everything as close as they can and use US-made materials and suppliers. They are providing good jobs in the US and now exporting these great products."
Location: Santa Fe, NM Personal Note: I love my Optibike! My mantra is ENLIGHTENED TRANSPORTATION AND EXHILARATING FUN! I have not been disappointed. I researched electric bikes for two years and when I saw an Optibike, I knew even without a test ride that this bike was for me!
I use my Optibike for errands, commuting, exercise and "nature therapy." Being outside in the fresh air and landscape is just way too fun.
Location: Portland, OR Personal Note: I feel like a kid again. I’m a skinny guy who has never been able to mountain bike well at all, until the opti came along. Now I can do all the things my friends have been doing and even better. Call the Optibike my mid-life crisis, I don’t care – it’s cheaper than a corvette and better for you.
Location: Portland, OR Personal Note:"I circled Crater Lake on the Opti in about 90 minutes, two short stops, Eco mode until the last 10 miles , then went full power and was on red and flashing yellow at the end, about 33 miles total and lots of vertical, at over 7000 ft altitude. I apologized to one roadie I passed, just said " Sorry dude." It was a blast."
Personal Note: When asked about his favorite feature: “I’m sorry I don’t have one favorite feature. The Optibike ride is very smooth and stable. The battery power to range ratio is the best on the market. The handling cannot be compared to anything I’ve seen or ridden.”
Personal Note: “Despite the strong motor I still pedal pretty hard to get a good workout on the way to and from work and definitely noticed a big improvement in my overall health.”
Personal Note: “Its great to be on a bike instead of a car, You notice so much more nature and the beauty around you. I managed to keep 20 lbs off through biking and diet.”
Personal Note: "I've been riding a bicycle to work now for about eight years and have ridden an electric bike for the last four or so. After much anticipation, my Optibike arrived in mid August. I'm convinced that an electric bicycle offers the best mix of exercise, convenience and ease of travel in a city environment. My daily commutes vary from 8 to 12 miles and I thoroughly enjoy my morning and evening rides through the tranquil neighborhoods of Vancouver."
